Job Description:

The position offers a rare opportunity for the qualified candidate to combine EU policy knowledge with commercial skills. You will identify corporate prospects who aim to include their message in European policy debate. You will quickly gain an understanding of their priorities and tailor proposals that use EurActiv’s unique multilingual network of portals to meet their EU communications objectives. You will work in a collaborative spirit with the prospective client and with EurActiv’s marketing and editorial teams. EurActiv provides a challenging environment in an innovative sector that thrives on hard work and teamwork for ambitious individuals.

 

The job consists of varied tasks including:

  • Identifying prospective clients and managing a contact database;
  • Determining the prospects’ key EU communications issues and potential EurActiv solutions;
  • Managing the sales process from initial meeting through proposal to closing the contract;
  • Implementing communication campaigns to ensure client satisfaction.

 

Profile:

  • Verifiable experience in corporate sales or services consulting, business development and/or media relations;
  • Knowledge of public affairs methods, or an EU policy background;
  • Ability to listen to corporate executives, manage expectations;
  • Able to make frequent phone calls and produce timely and professional correspondence (strong written English is essential);
  • Attention to detail and rigorous planning, good corporate presentation;
  • Hard-working, fast, bright;
  • English (excellent), French (very good); third EU language, an additional asset.

The successful candidate is most likely to have had a minimum of 3 to 5 years business development experience with large corporations, media or PA consultancies.
