The prime ministers of Serbia and Kosovo, Ivica Dačić and Hashim Thaci, are to meet in Brussels today (20 June) to discuss the implementation of the agreement on normalising relations – the key condition for the two countries' progress in European integration. EurActiv Serbia reports.

The Turkish government reacted furiously to a resolution adopted by the European Parliament, condemning Ankara for not being conciliatory in the face of protests that left several dead and thousands injured.  EurActiv Turkey reports. 

Neven Mimica has received the backing from the European Parliament yesterday (12 June), paving the way for him to become Croatia's first commissioner when the country joins the EU on 1 July. Parliament also agreed that 11 present EU member countries would lose a seat each, and Germany three, to make room for the 15 new Croatian deputies.

Members of  the European Parliament expressed grave concern yesterday (12 June) about the Turkish government’s response to the Gezi Park protests that have polarised the country over the last three weeks. There was less consensus on whether speeding up EU accession negotiations could help the democratisation process in Turkey, however, EurActiv Turkey reports.
