EurActiv has competed successfully in open competition for EU tenders and calls for proposal since 2001, most recently winning Framework contracts with the European Parliament and the European Economic and Social Committee. EurActiv has won over 15 major projects from different EU institutions and supported a range of research projects with dissemination packages.

FP7 contract: Strategic Transitions for Youth Labour in Europe (STYLE) - 42 months- starting 2014

The central concept of this project is based on a policy learning approach to address youth unemployment. The overriding aim is to conduct a comparative EU wide analysis that is sensitive to gender differences and the historical legacies of multi-level institutions shaping policies to overcome youth unemployment. The research will also assess the effectiveness of labour market policies designed to mitigate this phenomenon. At the end of the 3 years of research, a book will be published and launched in Brussels.

Goals & Achievements: OurSpace is based on the idea that the active involvement of young people in the process of socio-political decision-making plays a very important role in our societies. Therefore, OurSpace aims to contribute towards bringing the EU closer to the youth by improving their role within the democratic system of the EC through the use of ICT. OurSpace will be tailored entirely to the needs of the young European citizens. Open Discovery Space (A Socially-powered and Multilingual Open Learning Infrastructure to Boost the Adoption of eLearning Resources) - 36 Months – Starting in 2012

Goals & Achievements: Open Discovery Space aims to serve as an accelerator of the sharing, adoption, usage, and re-purposing of already rich existing educational content base. It will promote community building between numerous schools of Europe and empower them to use, share and exploit unique resources from a wealth of educational repositories, within meaningful educational activities. In addition, it will demonstrate the potential of eLearning resources to meet the educational needs of these communities supported by a European community-based social platform. Open Discovery Space will also evaluate the impact and document the whole process into a roadmap that will include guidelines for the design and implementation of resource-based educational activities that could act as a European reference to be adopted by stakeholders in school education.
Citadel...on the move 36 Months – Starting in 2012

Goals & Achievements: Citadel on the Move is a new project co-funded by the European Commission, which will unite Europe’s leading local government organizations with Living Lab experts, ICT specialists and expert SMEs. The goal of Citadel on the Move is to demonstrate that it is possible to combine Open Access Data and Mobile Application tools to create ‘smart,’ innovative citizen-generated services that can be used in differed European Cities. This vision lies at the heart of the Citadel Statement under Belgian EU Presidency (December 2010) and in line with the EU Ministers Malmo Ministerial Declaration (Swedish EU Presidency 2009) outlining a forward-looking eGovernment vision to be achieved by 2015.
