Generally, please see below some indications of the background we request in each department:
Editorial – must have native or near native English and a minimum of 3 years journalistic, preferably online, experience.
Sales & Marketing – must have at least three years sales experience, preferably in the service sector, good knowledge of EU policies is a desirable asset.
Technical – good knowledge of content management systems, data base management and integration of proprietary and open source software.
Finance & administration – ideally with experience of UK and continental accounting, finance and corporate legal structures, likely to have minimum ten years business experience, should be fluent in French and English.
Internships: EurActiv recruits up to six young people per year for periods of at least six months to assist in each of the sections listed above. Applicants should be knowledgeable about EU policies, ideally have done a 'stage' in one of the EU institutions and be fluent in English and French at least.
Translators (from English into French) should be native speakers in the relevant language.
Interns should be eligible for Leonardo da Vinci-type funding in the first six months. For possible extensions a modest remuneration is paid.

EurActiv.com is an independent media portal for EU policies. EurActiv has an original business model, based on 5 elements (corporate sponsoring, EurActor membership, advertising, EU projects, and content syndication). It is well funded and the content usage is free.
The EurActiv web portal is firmly established as favourite online platform for public affairs specialists. It brings together journalistic independence with transparency practical efficiency, complementing the existing EU media and institutional websites.

EurActiv enjoys extensive political, NGO and press support. It is at the heart of the 'Community of EU Actors'. This 'Community' includes several thousand European organisations and companies, many of which are currently using EurActiv's services.
EurActiv.com is incorporated in the UK, where it has its administrative seat. EurActiv has a large Project Office in Brussels. Currently, the team includes over 25 persons, including in the key positions, a Publisher (former McKinsey consultant and Commission official), a Secretary General (former chair of AmCham EU and CEO of The EPC), a Technical Director (expert in network management), and a team of journalists headed by a Managing Editor (former journalist and Section Coordinator at EurActiv), plus a full marketing team and a technical team.
