In 2015 for the second time in a row, SOLIDAR together with its members and partners committed to promote universal #Socialprotection4all, have organised the Social Protection Days.
For three days Civil Society Organisations’ (CSOs) and EU representatives had several dialogues, roundtable debates, reflections and discussions to reflect on the role of the different actors (EU Institutions, UN and CSOs) in promoting the human right to social protection. On top of that they reflected on how to move from commitments to the implementation of the social protection related Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) targets and its 2030 agenda. Among the CSOs were: OGB-L Solidaritié Syndicale, Solidaritè Socialiste and FOS.
SOLIDAR is continuing its efforts to promote social protection in 2016, through presenting its results of the ‘Social Protection Monitor’ a joint effort initiated in collaboration with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) and the Africa Platform for Social Protection. During the Africa week, organised by the Socialist and Democrats Group in the European Parliament in the beginning of April, there will be a closed event in which the Social Protection Monitor will be discussed with Brussels based experts.
