Survey: 'Turks feel most threatened by America' - 06 September 2007 - News

According to a recent survey by the Pew Global Attitudes Project, Turks represent the largest section of Middle-East citizens who consider the US as the greatest threat to their lives, liberty and cultural values, despite Turkey being a NATO ally and a country touted as the type of secular, multi-party democracy that America should foster in the Middle East.

MEPs defend anti-rendition report in US - 23 April 2007 - News

A delegation of euro-MPs went before the US Congress in Washington DC on 17-19 April to defend the findings of a report criticising the practice of extraordinary rendition, in which terrorist suspects were transferred by US authorities to other countries for interrogation.

Germany extradites islamic militant to Turkey - 13 October 2004 - News

Muhammed Metin Kaplan, an Islamic militant suspected of devising a 1998 plot to crash a plane into the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, was extradited from Germany to Turkey on 12 October.

EU investigates possible insider trading by terrorists - 24 September 2001 - News

The European economics and finance ministers on Saturday 22 September decided to investigate whether terrorists have been involved in insider trading on EU markets ahead of attacks in the US. The recently created EU committee of securities market regulators will be in charge of the investigation.
