BELGRADE – A visit from China?

At a meeting with Chinese ambassador to Serbia, Chen Bo yesterday (14 September), Serbian Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin invited his Chinese counterpart, General Wei Fenghe, to visit Serbia.

Having noted that the Serbian government had made a decision to suspend international cooperation in the defence sector for the next six months “under horrible and undeserved pressure from the EU,” Vulin said that Belgrade had managed to protect the country’s military neutral status, striking “the right balance in relations with all interested parties.”

During the meeting with the Chinese diplomat, Vulin reaffirmed Serbia’s support of a “one-China” policy, and the ambassador confirmed Beijing’s support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, the defence ministry reported.
