The EU commissioner for enlargement and neighbourhood policy, Oliver Varhelyi, will visit Serbia and Montenegro from 6-7 February and meet with the two countries’ top officials and opposition representatives.
In Belgrade, Varhelyi will meet with the president and prime minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić and Ana Brnabić. He will hold a joint news conference with Vučić, to sketch out the “work with the region and for the region,” after a presentation of the revised methodology in the process of EU enlargement.
Ahead of the news conference, the Serbian Minister for European integration, Jadranka Joksimović, and the chief of the EU Delegation in Serbia, Sem Fabrizi, will sign the financial agreement on the IPA 2019 project financing.
In Podgorica, Varhelyi will present the European Commission’s plans for the region on 7 February to the president and prime minister of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović and Duško Marković, and to representatives of the opposition. (EURACTIV.rs)
