President Aleksandar Vucic reiterated on Thursday (5 March) that Serbia “is not going to become a parking lot for migrants”.
“If necessary we are capable of closing the border. We do not, however, have any kind of problem yet. For now, we are living in imaginary fear,” the president added in Novi Sad. If necessary, Serbia would consult its neighbours and take the required steps, the president said.
“Serbia is ready to preserve the safety and security of its citizens at any time. Still, people have no reason for fear and I won’t be bothered by anyone whose skin is of a different colour. I am not capable of supporting this policy and will not support it, because that is not the Serb spirit and the spirit of normal people,” he said.
