The new Slovak government will be installed on Saturday (March 21). Outgoing Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) promised the transfer of power will be courteous and dignified.
New Prime Minister Igor Matovič (OĽaNO) has said his government will not have “bloody eyes” and will not make personal changes in the ministries in light of the current challenge of COVID-19.
The threat of an epidemic will also affect the ceremony of the constitution of the new parliament, planned for Friday (March 20). The new MPs will take the oath with their face covered and will drop the customary handshake with the speaker of the parliament. (Zuzana Gabrižová | EURACTIV.sk)
