BUDAPEST – Orbán will leave the EPP if it doesn’t change

We are interested in the future EPP” but will leave the political family if it “is unable to change,” Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told an international press conference.

“I want to be as young as Donald Trump”. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and US President Donald Trump are the “youngest people” in Western politics, as well “the most daring, the most dynamic, and the readiest to make a change,” Prime Minister Viktor Orbán  told an international press conference.

The PM also used the opportunity to talk about his future and that of his party. He said that if there was an appetite for it, he would stand for re-election in 2022 and that a new Christian Democrat initiative in the European Union “may be warranted”.

“We are interested in the future EPP” but will leave the political family if it “is unable to change,” he said, believing Fidesz’s suspended membership in the group will be decided in the next weeks.
