Spain’s socialist PM Pedro Sánchez proposed on Wednesday (19 February) to hold a bilateral dialogue with Catalan’s separatist president, Quim Torra, to solve the “political crisis” in Catalonia next Monday (24 February), EURACTIV’s partner EFE reported.
But the Catalan regional government, known as Generalitat, attacked Sanchez for disclosing the date of the meeting.

The Generalitat had previously proposed to convene the ‘Mesa de Diálogo’ (negotiating table) in March, the month in which the left-wing coalition PSOE and Unidas Podemos (United We Can) want to submit a draft budget.
The survival of the coalition depends on parliament approving the budget.
Elections are planned also in Catalonia after the summer. (EuroEFE.EURACTIV.es)
