ROME – First day of school

5.6 million of a total of 8.3 million Italian students for the 2020-2021 school year will return to school today (14 September).

“The return to school is always an emotional moment. I send my best wishes to everyone involved, from teachers to students to the school personnel, Prime Minister Giuseppe told students and teachers.

“There are always going to be problems, especially at the beginning. We should all be cautious, respecting the safety rules to ensure the health conditions of everyone is protected,” said the prime minister.

“Schools have structural difficulties that have been in place for years, the pandemic situation has only brought them up again,” he added. (Alessandro Follis | EURACTIV.it)
