The country’s largest opposition party, Civic Platform (PO), has nominated their new leader, Borys Budka.
Borys Budka was minister of justice and most recently the leader of the parliamentary group of PO MPs. He was supported by Donald Tusk and another former prime minister closely linked to Tusk, Ewa Kopacz.
He defeated Tomasz Siemoniak who was backed by former PO leader, Grzegorz Schetyna.
Budka’s target now is to lead an effective campaign for PO’s presidential candidate, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, who is polling second to the incumbent Andrzej Duda. (Łukasz Gadzała | EURACTIV.pl)
