WARSAW – No Norwegian funds for municipalities with ‘LGBT-free-zones’

Polish municipalities which have adopted resolutions on “LGBT-free zones” will not receive money from Norwegian funds, Norway’s diplomacy ministry has informed. The allocation of funds has already been the subject of a dispute between Oslo and Warsaw.

This is non-refundable aid provided to a dozen or so Central and Southern European countries and the Baltic States, of which Poland is the largest beneficiary.

The main objective of the funds is to reduce economic and social differences within the European Economic Area (EEA) and to strengthen bilateral relations between donor and beneficiary countries. (Aleksandra Krzysztoszek | EURACTIV.pl)
