WARSAW – Row over elections

As the number of cases reached a total of 749 and the eighth person died on Monday, the date of the country’s presidential elections due to take place in May is causing quite the stir.

While the opposition wants elections to be moved to a later date, the government has said there is no reason to postpone it for now, as PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński has reiterated over the past two days.

However, with the country at a standstill and people in quarantine, it is barely imaginable that everything will go as planned. (Łukasz Gadzała | EURACTIV.pl)
