WARSAW – Sanitary controls on the border with Germany and the Czech Republic

In Poland, authorities decided to undertake stricter measures by introducing sanitary controls on the border with Germany and the Czech Republic now that 17 coronavirus cases have been confirmed.

President Andrzej Duda will convene a National Security meeting for 11 am today (10 March) to discuss the threat posed by the coronavirus.

While Prime Minister Morawiecki also recommended postponing gatherings of more than 1,000 people in closed areas, both President Duda and presidential candidate Szymon Hołownia declared that they will not organise mass gatherings during the ongoing presidential campaign. Other campaigns are expected to follow suit.

Meanwhile, the Warsaw Stock Exchange concluded the day with more than a 7.8% drop. (Łukasz Gadzała | EURACTIV.pl)
