Health Minister Milan Kujunžić (HDZ, EPP) has submitted his resignation after being tied up in a scandal after media reports stated he had grossly misstated the value of a house he purchased in Zagreb.
Prime Minister Plenković will decide whether he will accept Kujunžić’s resignation tomorrow, and the minister has urged the PM to decide based ‘on legal facts presented by his attorney during yesterday’s press conference, and not the media’s lynching surrounding the affair’.
Croatian media have been reporting that Plenković allegedly wanted to replace Kujundžić during the big-government reshuffle this summer.
The health minister is allegedly more loyal to the more conservative party members, even though he has publicly supported his candidacy for inter-party elections scheduled for the 15 March. (Tea Trubić Macan | EURACTIV.hr)
