43,1% voter turnout in EU elections

European Parliament spokesperson Jaume Duch Guillot announced on Sunday that the overall EU election turnout has been 43,11%. Belgium and Luxembourg had once once again the highest turnout with 90%.

‘We are witnessing a historical moment because for the first time since 1979, the long term trend of declining turnout has been reversed’, Duch said.
