South of Brussels the verges of countryside roads have large quantities of coke cans, various plastic water bottles (Spa), Red Bull (quite a few of them) and so on and so forth – thrown there by brainless arseholes in cars. From time to time communes organise clean ups. On the road between Leefdal and Neerjise on one recent clean up there was a large bag every 5 – 6 meters – filled with coke cans, red bull cans, spa bottles etc etc.

There is a very very simple solution to this. A deposit system – let’s make it Euro2 per can or plastic container. This would stop brainless arseholes chucking them out of cars – & if they persisted it would provide income for those that might wish to “get on their bike” and make a bit of money.

Plastic bags? simple: ban all of them – use paper or nothing. There we are – all solved.

None of the above will happen because it would require courage from politicos and or the EC (who propose legislation). The would also be synchronised whining by Coke, Pepsi, Red Bull and all the other purveyors of useless fizzy water.
