Commission to close Google antitrust case after summer

The European Commission plans to issue a final decision on their competition probe into Google after the summer break, the EU’s antitrust chief said, after rivals such as Microsoft complained about how Google displays Internet search results.

“Today I am announcing that over the next few days we will be sending draft letters rejecting the complaints for the November 2010 investigation. There are 19 complaints and there will be 19 initial letters. The first will come out the nest few days and I think that during the summer we will be in a position to close the investigation with a College decision.” Almunia said.
