Only a few aid organisations published large amounts of useful information about their activities, according to the 2013 Aid Transparency Index.

While the four best-performers – the US and UK aid agencies, the UNDP and GAVI – scored between 83% and 89%, the average result was 32.6% and, at the bottom of the table, China scored just 2.2%.

The index of 67 donor organisations was put together by analysing 39 indicators, ranging from the level of project data to the quality of Freedom of Information arrangements.
