Global warming will affect the whole of the world’s water supplies over the coming century, but it will not affect them equally. Hundreds of millions of people will experience new or aggravated forms of water scarcity by 2100.
Even two degrees Celsius of warming – the international target – will leave 485 million exposed. With five degrees of warming, another 758 million people will suffer water shortages. 605 million of them in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
