Musk started by setting up Paypal. The proceeds when he sold the company went into setting up Tesla. The sale of that company, of which he is still CEO, went into developing SpaceX.
Rockets blow up every now and then. But this was not a launch but a static firing test. Launch was scheduled later. More significant is that it’s the Facebook satellite that was lost. Zuckerberg is aiming for world domination and this satellite would have firmly established Facebook as the gateway to the internet for Africa had it been successful. A blessing in disguise, perhaps? Zuckerberg would have been God there.
