The Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD) promotes an open, diverse and vibrant audiovisual media sector in Europe. In light of the recent proposal to update this legislation, the European Internet Forum event held a lunch debate on ‘The stimulating role of access to content in the DSM’ on 27 September.

At this event, Nicola Frank, Head of European Affairs for the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), discussed the opportunities the review of the AVMSD presents to ensure European citizens continue to have access to pluralistic and diverse content.
