Eurozone leaders hopeful of Greek deal

On Monday, Eurozone leaders welcomed new Greek budget proposals and called them a ‘positive step forward’ towards finding an agreement with Athens that would unlock frozen aid and stop Greece from defaulting.

Speaking at a press conference in the early hours of Tuesday, Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said that “although these proposals were coming in with some delay are a major step taken by the Greek authorities towards the direction of the expectations of the three institutions involved in that process”.
