Greece to EU: No deal

On Monday, Eurozone finance ministers failed to reach an agreement on how to proceed with Greece’s bailout programme after it expires at the end of the month.

Athens rejected a proposal to request a six-month extension of its international loan package, calling it “unacceptable”.

“The reaction of the ministers in the Eurogroup was disappointment of the outcome of those talks, much appreciation to the people who do the work over the weekend, but disappointment over the fact that there is still not a common ground on what such an adjustment in the program could look like and how much of the program would be carried forward by the new Greek government,” said Eurogroup President Jeroen Dijsselbloem.
