“Greece would never agree to stay in this current bailout programme because it is catastrophic,” said Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis on Thursday.
In his first Eurogroup meeting, Varoufakis held an 8-hour conversation with his eurozone counterparts to discuss a way forward for Greece’s bailout programme.
“Our proposals are simple: no unilateral moves, no aggressive moves from our side. We are only asking for some time to table our proposals and be given a chance to agree with our partners,” the Greek Finance Minister said.
EU finance ministers are expected to meet again next Monday.
