Orbán’s potential challengers in Hungary pledge pro-European course

Ahead of next year’s parliamentary elections in Hungary, EURACTIV spoke to the two contenders who hope to end the 12-year-long rule of Viktor Orban’s nationalist Fidesz.

The week-long polls that close on Saturday (16 October) will determine who will lead the united opposition in the 2022 parliamentary election: European social democrat and federalist MEP Klára Dobrev or Christian conservative independent mayor Péter Márki-Zay.
