November 27, 2019, a full-day final event of EU H2020 FlightPath project on “Sustainable Fuels for Aviation in Europe” took place in Brussels. The conference was jointly organised by the European Commission, SENASA, FlightPath, ARTFuels and Airport Regions Conference. The European Advanced Biofuels Flightpath initiative aims to get Sustainable Aviation Fuels to the market faster, through the development of regional bioports in Europe. Particular attention was given to the development of local production capabilities for both feedstocks and the conversion to biofuels, as this supports the European Commission’s ambition to create energy security. The creation of regional bioports will generate regional economic activities and create jobs.
