Over A Coffee with Maros Sefcovic

European Commission Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič meets with EURACTIV’s Sam Morgan over a coffee to talk about Europe’s climate policy, Nord Stream 2 and why he thinks he can succeed Jean-Claude Juncker in the top job.

Maroš Šefčovič has been at the heart of a lot of the EU’s energy and climate policy over the last four years and is proud of what has been achieved under his tenure, including the Clean Energy Package.

But the Slovak Commissioner, a Brussels veteran nearly at the end of his second full mandate, hasn’t run out of energy yet. He’s the first to throw his name into the hat for the forthcoming race to be the next Commission president.
