Analysis: EU-Russia partnership: Eurasian prospect or dialogue of the deaf?

Since the Soviet Union collapsed (1989) and the UE began to take shape with the Maastricht Treaty (1992), relations between Russia and the EU have undergone some tensions, although both blocks share “four common spaces” since 1999. 

In this article for EuropaNova, Pierre-Hubert Bouillon, researcher for CEREMS, analyses the relations between the EU and Russia since the 1990s and looks at what they are likely to become in the future given the EU enlargement policy, post-9/11 US foreign policy and the rise of the Muslim world and China.
