EU Foreign Affairs chief Catherine Ashton announced on Monday that the European Union will expand its sanctions list against Russia, as pro-Russian armed forces occupied official buildings in Eastern Ukraine over the weekend.

“We call upon Russia to pull back its troops from the Ukrainian border. Any further actions aimed at destabilizing Ukraine have to stop. In line to recent events we decided to expand the list of those subject to asset freezes and VISA bans.” Ashton said.
