Poroshenko: More tanks in Donbas than in the German Bundeswehr

The former president of Ukraine sat down with EURACTIV while he was in Brussels for what he calls “Ukrainian days:” the EU-Ukraine Association Council and NATO parliamentary assembly, to which the country has its own delegation.

Petro Poroshenko calls for Ukraine to stay high on the new Commission’s agenda and not let Russia detoxify its image. Poroshenko, sceptical of the Steinmeier formula, highlights that without the elusive ceasefire the loss of Ukrainian lives continues.

The fifth president of the EU’s eastern neighbour also suggests how to improve the Minsk agreements, the dangers of a Russia-orchestrated “muppet show” elections in the occupied territories and what the Kremlin wants with Donbas.
