Van Rompuy: Ukrainian people gave their lives for closer EU ties

Speaking at the Association Agreement signing ceremony between the EU and Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, European Council President Herman Van Rompuy said that the agreements are ‘milestones’ in the history of the EU and its eastern partners.

Europe’s heads of state and government are gathering in Ypres and Brussels on Thursday and Friday to discuss the strategic priorities for Europe in the next five years and to chose who will become the next president of the European Commission.
