Comments on: Italy to suspend EU funding unless others take in migrants EU news and policy debates across languages Thu, 14 Feb 2019 16:08:44 +0000 hourly 1 By: Wed, 29 Aug 2018 15:45:23 +0000 The Commission needs to be better able to understand the complex relationship we collectively share with our regional neighbours. For example, forgetting about the €400 billion we spend on petroleum products from various up-and-coming or perhaps not so up-and-coming nations such as Algeria, Libya, Nigeria and various other nation states.

The point is that as the flood of money comes in, it often poses a complication for those handling it. Oil often comes on a tide of light arms and weapons that have are now saturating African regions. militias and others form factions and this can lead to difficulty in farmers making an adequate living, and can arise in conflicts.

So as we consider where this is all going in the future, we need to think about our funding of these nations which may cause more harm than the good it may at first appear to be.

We certainly need to think about renewably-produced hydrogen and at least stop causing trouble and putting our nose in where its not wanted.
