This report from EuropaNova presents the contribution of ten NGOs, representing the entire range of European civil society and tries to answer the question of whether Europe can still be built without Europeans. Doing so, it asks the European Council to provide some recommandations on how to reinforce European identity.

This first annual report presents the contribution of ten NGOs, representing the entire range of European civil society in the Union, seeking the renewal of the European project.EuropaNova requested these organisations to identify the measures in their respective areas that they wish to see adopted by the institutions of the Union in order to reinforce European identity.

Our initiative is a long term one; open to all organisations of civil society who wish like us to keep European debate alive and to influence the leaders of the Union to put European general interest at the heart of their concerns.
This report, addressed to the 25 heads of state and government of the European Union, comes at a time when the construction of Europe is experiencing particularly difficult times.
