NATO’s chief: ‘Europe should develop military capabilities’

As EU leaders gather in Brussels for the last EU summit of the year, NATO’s Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said that Europe should develop ‘military capabilities’, including ‘observation drones, air to air refueling and heavy transport’.

‘This is not about creating a European army, this is about making sure that the countries in Europe are strong and capable so that they can contribute to crisis management’, he added.
