At 3.00 a.m. clocks are to be turned back 1 hour to standard time.”

If the latter – then as El Ingles observed – that means sun-rise at 0400hrs. This is nonsense and will mean evenings in summer start earlier in the day. Arguably, EU citizens should be sticking with summer time since it will save energy – an element of the energy transformation?

It has been greatly enjoyable during this rare summer in Belgium to have supper outside in daylight as late as 22h00. Now it seems I shall have to sacrifice that to be awoken by the summer dawn chorus as early as 04h00. . . Thanks but no thanks.
