A recently published comparative analysis of health status in the 10 Central and Eastern European candidate countries highlights the main health issues of the accession countries compared with those of the current members of the EU. This WHO Regional Office for Europe publication hopes to influence continuing discussions on some of the consequences of EU enlargement for health.
