Slovak shops report rise in thefts in wake of Fico reform

A growing number of Slovak shopkeepers report an increase in petty theft following the reform of the criminal code introduced by Fico’s government, which reclassified theft of up to €700 as an administrative offence punishable by a maximum fine of €331, even if repeated.
