Agreement on defence cooperation with Kosovo

Albania and Kosovo have further intensified cooperation in the field of defence as Minister Niko Peleshi and his Kosovar counterpart Armend Mehaj signed a cooperation agreement in Prishtina on Tuesday, Albania Daily News reported.

Minister Peleshi congratulated the Kosovo Security Forces for engaging in the first peacekeeping mission abroad, along with American colleagues in Kuwait. Speaking about the most important exercise “Defender Europe 2021”, the Albanian Minister said that it is very good news for both countries that the US and NATO partners were given the selection for the development of this exercise. 

Furthermore, the Minister of Defense Peleshi, said that the full membership of the countries of the region in the NATO Alliance means more security, stability and democracy not only for these countries, but also for the alliance. Moreover, integration is a common dream of the peoples of the Balkans, which deserves to be rewarded for their sacrifices”, said Peleshi.   (Željko Trkanjec | EURACTIV.hr)
