On Sunday, Afrim Gashi, leader of Alternative and Zoran Zaev, Prime Minister, signed a program on joint action declaring that early elections are not needed. With the four MPs from Alternative, the governing coalition will have a majority with 64 MPs compared to 61 of 120 after the elections in 2020. Zaev hopes to reach 66 MPs but said this parliamentary support for the Government ensures political stability. According to spokesperson Murtezani, the reason for Alternative joining the government is the historic moment for the opening of EU membership talks and resolving disputes with Bulgaria and Albania because that will open the way for European integration of the entire nation region. “Now is the most positive period to find a solution with Bulgaria, and it must not be missed”, said Zaev after the signing.
