Some of Austria’s current lockdown measures will be lifted as of 7 December, the government announced on Wednesday.

Not only will there be a curfew from 8pm to 6am, but shops and some services providers such as hairdressers will remain open, while restaurants and bars will remain closed.

Elementary schools will reopen their classrooms, while all older students will continue homeschooling.

However, everyone entering Austria from 7 December to 10 January will now have to go into mandatory quarantine and self-isolate for 10 days. If those entering the country during that period present a negative COVID-19 test, they will only have to quarantine for five days.
