As of 1 September, Belgium is relaxing a series of COVID-19 measures. However, most of them will apply to Flanders and Wallonia, but not to the Brussels-Capital Region as its local government has decided to maintain previous measures for at least another month due to high infection rates and a comparatively lower vaccination rate.

In the catering industry, most restrictions regarding closing time and number and modalities of people at a table have been removed, bar service restored.

Events of less than 200 people indoors and 400 outdoors can continue without restrictions in the rest of the country, except in Brussels where the measures regarding distance and mouth masks will be maintained.

The recommendation to work from home has been lifted, except in Brussels where it stays in place.

No more restrictions in turn will apply country-wide on the number of people one can receive at home.
