Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic reiterated on Wednesday (26 August) that Belgrade’s stance was “the absolute adherence to the Dayton agreement” and the preservation of Republika Srpska (RS) in the way that is envisaged in that peace agreement.
After the meeting with RS leaders in Belgrade, Vucic said that the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, informed him about the problems and about what he viewed as the violation of the Dayton agreement at the expense of RS.
“I think I don’t need to say how much we care, not only about relations with RS, but also about RS in general. I said that my stance was the absolute adherence to the Dayton agreement. Peace and stability are crucial for Serbia and RS. We must respond to threats of war with calm and patience. We must not participate in that game, but honour the agreements we have signed,” Vucic stated.
