BiH presidency speaks with WHO about difficulties and delays in vaccine delivery

BiH Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik and members Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović spoke with WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and discussed difficulties and delays in the delivery of vaccines to Bosnia and Herzegovina through the UN COVAX mechanism.

The members of the Presidency of BiH emphasised that BiH has fulfilled all its financial and other established obligations last year and that it expects the same from the COVAX programme and the vaccine manufacturers that operate within its framework.

It was concluded that the Cover Letter and the Agreement on Compensation and Liability between BiH and the producers should be signed as soon as possible, as subsequently added obligations, and the readiness of the producers to deliver the entire quantity of vaccines within clearly specified deadlines was discussed. 

Presidency members stated that BiH meets all the technical conditions to immediately accept, store and distribute one million vaccines from all manufacturers operating under the COVAX program. (Željko Trkanjec | EURACTIV.hr)
