A new alliance on migration has been formed between Hungary and Malta, said Hungary’s foreign minister Péter Szijjártó after meeting Maltese counterpart Evarist Bartolo in Valletta on Wednesday (9 September), state news agency MTI reported. At the same time, Szijjártó lashed out against “Soros-type NGOs”.
Szijjártó said that Malta and Hungary view the dilemmas and issues facing the EU the same way, and that there is an agreement between the two countries on migration.
Regarding the work of “Soros-type NGOs,” Szijjártó said these organisations are constantly blackmailing the people of Europe, forging alliances with human trafficking networks and committing crimes when facilitating migration, as illegal migration is itself a crime.
