Anti-fascist activists have welcomed Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković’s decision to attend the commemoration of the anti-fascist Struggle Day for the first time.

Franjo Habulin, the head of the Alliance of Anti-fascist Fighters and Antifascists (SABA), said that over the last 30 years a lot of problems had accumulated regarding the attitude towards anti-fascism, Croatia’s anti-fascist history and monuments commemorating anti-fascist fighters.

“Prime Minister Plenković obviously thinks that certain processes should be stopped and that problems that have accumulated in the last 30 years should be addressed. I think his attendance in Brezovica is a step in that direction,” Habulin said.
