The visit of Matthew Palmer, a senior US State Department official in charge of electoral reform in BiH, and Angelina Eichhorst, director of the European External Action Service (EEAS), to Bosnia and Herzegovina has been cancelled, MP Damir Arnaut said, adding that the two announced that they would “suspend” the negotiations until further notice, N1 reported.

Damir Arnaut who was a member of the SBB party (Union for a Better Future of BiH), the second Bosniak party according to representation in parliament, left that party recently and now is member of Naša stanka (Our Party).

Last week some media reported that negotiations on electoral law reform will be extended into January.

Elections should be held in October, and the Venice Commission recommended that law should not be changed in the electoral year. But, as can be concluded from public statements of Bosniak and Croat politicians, there has been no progress in negotiations which could explain Palmer and Eichhorst’s decision to cancel the trip.
